Ooooh - I've seen several pictures of a quilt of a similar pattern online, and it inspired me to buy interesting colours and patterns of jeans at the thrift store. I've found fantastic florals and a multitude of different colours from pink to purple, turquoise and orange, and of course, a million shades of blue. I get them in the largest plus sizes, because it's all about the fabric I can get out of them, of course.
I too, hope to make a pretty stained glass denim quilt like this.

I absolutely love your denim quilt. I have a bunch of my dad's jeans and just have not known what to do with them. Maybe your denim quilt has inspired me. I was thinking about making a rag quilt with them but I like your design better. Do you need a denim needle and special thread? Did you have it quilted by a long arm quilter or did you quilt it yourself?

I cut about 3- 12", 4-10", 10-8", 20-6", 60-4",and 80-2" in Light blue, Med. blue, and Dark blue it is good to cut some extras of all the denim. Yes I long arm my on quilt. yes you need a larger needle size 100 if you do it your self, use a good thread. Cut your strips in between block into 1" strips. Sew with 1/4" seams.(I used Black Kona cotton fabric). Have fun making your quilt
