Fellow teachers and I made one for our school office. We used a similar pattern and put teachers names and subjects on the books, school mascot, trophies, band instruments, school colors, etc. Everyone commented on it and it has been on display for a decade.

It's wonderful. I did a Library Block Exchange, have the blocks but haven't completed it. At first I couldn't figure out how I wanted to do the sashing, etc. Fancy or Plain. This was about 8 years ago. I was on a Yahoo Group which doesn't exist now but was wonderful like this site. We did round robins too.
It was an international exchange (U.S., Canada, Europe and more) and the blocks are wonderful. Especially the appliqued ones (mostly from my European friends). Remember that I suffer from "applique envey"...not one of my best skills. All the women titled their books from their favorite reading and authors and some are in "foreign languages.
You're quilt is sooooo wonderful. I'm getting expired to complete. Maybe I can scan the blocks for you to see and to share.
Thank you for sharing and bringing back wonderful memories for me. That's what quilts are aren't and they last forever. Always happiness with quilts.
