    No ruler but pattern comes with paper templates that you trace onto freezer paper

    It's hard to describe...but it involves the basting glue curved pieces together and then folding them into each other
    like you do the top of a box when you want to keep the top closed....Interlocking sections...Then sewing seams
    together or cheating like I did and did a decorative stitch on top to sew the 4 interlocking pieces together.
