    What amazing quilts. What a tragedy to know that we as humans could do this to another human being! It brought tears to me. The world hasn't changed much either!

    The quilt with all of the names is 10 x 12. can you just imagine a quilt that large? Awesome
    This was in Detroit when I was visiting family in Belleville,MI.

    I so wish I could have seen that presentation and those quilts in person! I admit that I had to go look up who Ida Bell was...amazing woman!

    I don't know if she is just in that area or what? sorry. My niece seen the ad at the university and her mom (my sister) both quilt so she knew we would be interested. And we were

    As I began reading your post, I was just thinking the same thing. And true, history keeps repeating itself over and over again. Everytime I think of the horrors of our times and those poor little aborted babies and the euthanized older folks, I could cry. We must have hope and continue to live exemplary (sp?) lives of good example.

    Those quilts are awesome. I especially love the first two 3D quilts. Thanks for sharing these with us.

    Very nice work this woman is doing, documenting the history and heritage of the African-American people. There is a long history of quilting by slaves, and I have seen a few examples. It was beautiful work.
