    Take off the top and bottom strips. Add a tiny border on both sides with the same fabric as the backing. Cut the top and bottom of the backing that is both 1/2 inch wider and longer and the attach the new top and bottom. It will have a seam in the seam of the sides but not in the top and bottom. Hope it helps.

    It is very cute. If you use the background fabric for a small border, once it's quilted it will never show.
