    Default Little green Christmas trees.

I bought Christmas applique from Designs by JuJu. It is a series of holiday applique, but, the little Christmas trees just really appealed to me. It did not take too long to stitch out and I used up some green scraps (very little, actually) and it just sort of took on a life of its own. It was like when you see ouiji boards in horror movies, my hands just reached out for fabric. It ended up 16 x 36 inches, just right for my kitchen table. I used a die to cut the piano keys border, die saved a ton of time. I found a piece of dark green velvet and used it for the backing, with no batting. Velvet is not great to sew as it does not want to "move" so it was a battle outlining the trees. For the rest of it, I used a walking foot and that was much easier to maneuver. It looks like it belongs there and is so cheerful.

What a pretty table runner! I love the shape of those little trees. You did a fantastic job on a very pretty, seasonal runner. Thanks for sharing.

Adorable! I'd want to leave it out all year. And, you totally could.

great table runner. I can't do beautiful edging like that, so I usually do needle turn applique. The velvet is lovely, too.
