2). I was reading about how to deal with flannel for a quilt - they suggested to starch from the backside before cutting. What do you (or anyone else) think about that?
3). Are there any quirks about working with flannel? Did you use flannel for the larger square? I’m not sure what I’m going to use in the back - probably flannel.

Sandy, I'm not Caroline but I love working with flannel. I would pre-shrink it though.
I find flannel very easy to sew on. I've never starched it. Hope this helps.

SusieQOH - thanks for your help - I did ask some friends about washing and they agreed - hot wash and hot dry. I wasn’t too keen on the starching thing so I’m glad yiu said you never do that. I bought the flannel for my going on 2-1/2 year old granddaughter for Christmas. I just need to settle on what kind or pattern to make. I was thinking about a puff quilt or just regular pieces blocks. I’m rather taken with the puff quilt (called biscuit quilts years ago) as it looks very soft and comfy for her. Guess I had better get to the washing😄😄😄😄

    Thanks,
    Sandy in Mooresville, NC
