    Dianne, I mark the quilt using a quilting stencil & washable marker. I have a Brother sewing machine & I set it for the 01 stitch which puts the needle right in the middle...so I can see & follow marked pattern line. Stopping & slightly turning the pattern gets old, but on this little table runner it was fairly easy to do that. Although, I can't imagine doing it on a quilt. Debbie
