Make sure your seams are ironed in opposite directions, and when you put the two pieces together, 'nestle' the seams together real well, and pin. I don't know any other way to describe but 'nestle'. Looks good -- I would not worry about something that tiny. I have a 5' rule -- if you can't see it at 5', then do't rip since you can do create more distortion when you take it apart.
Sewing in rows then attaching the rows is a great way to assemble a quilt. I have also made large blocks, but the rows are easier to handle for me.
