    What a wonderful gift. To repair or not, that's a tuffy. I have some 60 yr olds quilts that the binding is almost wore completely off but I just can't bear to change a thing on them, but I probably should.

    Wow! How lucky you are. I think I would get a coffee table with a glass top and display it underneath it as is. It is a wonderful quilt.

    I would definitely repair it. The sentimental value is priceless. It is an incredible gift with a wonderful story behind it.

    An appraiser would probably tell you NOT to repair the quilt. If there are spots frayed (sp?) just cover them; do not remove any of the original fabric.

    wow, what a wonderful friend you have...your quilt is sooooo pretty..i would leave it as it is....look at all the time it took to make all those ruffles...have never thought of making a quilt like that... :thumbup:

    Exquisite colors. If you can repair invisibly somehow, otherwise, I would leave it as is. What a special gift for you.
