I'm using the pinking blade with my Pony Club blocks.

This is my practice block. It has some cream fabric behind it so that it didn't blend in with the table. I'm going to make some practice blocks & put 'em in another quilt.

I do like how these are coming out & no strings everywhere.

I was in the fabric store today and as I was waiting for my stuff to be cut, the lady ahead of me said that she had retired 3 years ago and that in 2011 she had made *24* quilts for Victoria! I was very impressed. She has a long arm so she does all the work, start to finish, for Victoria. They generally want the volunteers to do tops only, but clearly this lady was one of the experts that they use to finish them off!
If you can do all those clever blocks, forget the beginner status! You baby quilt is lovely and thank you for taking all the time to photographs your process with the pinking.

I had wondered about this, but i just couldn't imagine how to measure the 1/4" seam. It still seems to me the inside of > next to the ruler would be the place to measure from since that is where the straight cut would have been. But I am definitely going to experiment with this. Thanks for the info and demo.

I also use the pinking blade with my rotary cutter but I do it on the back of my mat & it does not effect your ruler. It really saves on threads, just a tiny mess on your mat when cutting & I sweep it off with a wad of netting that I also clean the other side with. Try it ladies you'll be surprised.

When I go to my LQS...and buy precuts (they do all their own) they are always pinked edges...and I love them. I just never thought we could do that our self...but...I just sent hubby a text to stop on his way home from work..stop at Joanns and buy me one.. cutter also if needed...

I so love all the tips on this board...

Wow, very neat. I've never used the pinking blade, but I may have to try it.
