They are great, but my favorite is the bear paw. I love scraps so of course that would catch my eye.

this is the way i did a quilt very similar to yours. i don't know if it shows, but i meandered around each quarter circle, then went in straight lines at right angles to each other in each alternate quarter circle. in the very center, i created a second circle that i left unquilted to give some surface interest. around the outside edge of circles, i followed the same pattern, but left out the puffy center.

I would stitch in the ditch if you are doing it on a regular sewing machine. If you have a long arm or access to one, you could find a nice feather stitch or some thing of the sort. Good luck and those are beautiful quilts. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay

This was one of my first quilts that I made. I was making a pattern called broken dish. I had no idea that when put together they made a pinwheel.
I am still in the dark ages...I tie the center of each pinwheel. It is my most favorite way to use different colors together and my most donated style.

What ever you choose to do I know that it will be loved!

There is a Desert Nine Patch in the Keepsake quilting catalog that shows a closeup of the quilting in the neutral blocks. It is a sun pattern that might work for the circles. It is used for a block, but could easily be adapted. It is a circle in the middle and rays extending out from the middle. The catalog I have is the Spring 2010, but the kit has been in several catalog. Hope this helps. I've been dying to try it.
