Oh my...do I have the world's best hubby or what? :D Saw this in a local used furniture store...I drooled and whimpered....he bargined and loaded it in that car!! Made sometime between 1878 and the late 1880's according to what I can find on Needlebar...

~happy lil sigh~ He gave up a planned fishing trip to the coast to bring this home!! Love that man to pieces!

    With the cabinet, I think it's original...is stamped W&W

Close up of the machine...seems to work like a charm, altho I have to figure out loading the bobbin and threading her!

From what I understand, this kind of cabinet is called a "Coffin Lid"??

Charlee, that is in absolutely gorgeous condition!!! And yes that is a "Coffin top".

Its rare that you find one that complete and with the majority of the decals left on it. Not too many folks know this but look at the Presser Foot closely....... that is a glass Presser Foot. It was a proprietary feature with the W&W's.

That is a great collectors piece!!

Oh and tell your Hubby I love him too!!!!

:) Thanks! William laughed and blew you a kiss Billy...should I be worried?

Serial # is 434598...she has the early version of tensioner...but has the release bar on the bobbin case...guessing she was born sometime about 1880...would that be right?
