What a difference a machine makes in our quilting life. It is certainly not nice fighting a machine.

I have the Pfaff Performance 5.0 as well! I have done stitch in the ditch with the built in designs and that has been fun, and now doing FMQ areas on the same quilt. Also, I went to www.pfaff.com and went to the updates, and there is a recent new update for this machine. I downloaded it off the computer and installed it on the Pfaff and I think it really does FMQ easier. I also have a Viking Diamond Deluxe Royale, the big embroidery machine and I love both of these machines.

I also have a Pfaff 2170, a smaller embroidery machine and I refuse to trade it in or sell. It is small enough to take to sewing classes although I have wheeled in the Performance 5.0!

My very first machine was a Pfaff 262, a mechanical machine you see in my avatar and again I will not part with. Then, a collector's item for Pfaff fans is the Pfaff 130, the black mechanical that is like a tank! I love FMQ on it.

You made a great choice and you can't go wrong with Pfaff.

I'm glad to find that I'm not the only one who doesn't like the Saphire. I was beginning to think that it was the operator! Lol. I had nothing it trouble with the Saphire. I put it up and didn't use it. Then I got breast cancer and didn't quilt for almost a year. By that time, it was out of warranty. I did find a dealer 150 miles from my home who took it apart and replaced the cutter motor . . . Cutter jammed every time it was used . . . And replaced several other parts. It was a female repair person and she got it to sew very well. The only thing she couldn't fix was the noise it makes when it sews. She apologized for that and for the $348 repair bill. It sews a perfect stitch now, but I hate it because it makes more noise than my antique Singer machines. Hubby bought me a new Baby Lock Crescendo for my birthday 3 weeks ago. I love it! The Saphire is back in the closet.

Sorry to hear you had such a terrible experience with your Sapphire. I have had mind four years (its a 755) and I love mine. Its a real workhorse for me! Glad you have a machine you love now!

I to like my pfaff. Not as fancy as yours though.

Good for you!!! I loved my Janome but when it bit the dust I wanted something with a larger throat so went with Juki and I've never one time regretted the purchase. Having a machine that sews well and can handle what you throw at it makes your life so much happier.
