    Great finds!
    I am German and Oma is indeed German for Granny (as well as Dutch, Dutch and German are quite similar). Grossmutter or Grossmama is Grandmother.

    Bless you rescuing these treasures. Whoever gave these quilts surely did know the love that went into making quilts.
