Look What I Won!
#1
Amanda, The Quilted Fish, held a Virtual 4th of July Sew In and I won a prize for being a part of it. Have to admit I didn't accomplish as much as I said I would but I was at my sewing machine a few hours or more each day of the weekend and finished 2 tops. Anyway, here is a photo of my prize, Zippy Doo Dah Layer Cake, Amanda's Sassy Squares 2 pattern and some yardage for the backing. What a haul!
You should take a look at her blog, thequiltedfish.blogspot.com, because I'm sure she'll be hosting more virtual sew ins and because it's an interesting site. May in Jersey
Can't seem to get photo to appear, will try again. M

Congratulations!
Having just finished a different mystery quilt in a day, I am thinking that we might not get it all done because getting used to how someone presents the clues varies according to personality!
But, it is sort of neat to do power sewing from time to time just to see how much you have improved from the last time.
Did you get a chance to chat with other quilters doing the same project?
I was running so fast and finally had to go take a nap! that chatting was almost impossible ...
Cutebuns did, however, manage to do the quilt + take pictures at each step of the way .... I guess that proves what you can do when you don't take naps, eh? LOL

Omak, No, we didn't communicate during the at home sew in but that's a good idea for the future. I think we could spur ourselves on and also remind each other to take frequent breaks like getting up from our machines, taking a bit of a walk around the house and picking up a nice little treat for ourselves on the way back to our machines. Sounds like a very good plan to me, LOL! May in Jersey

I love her blog! She does lots of giveaways. I won one once and got a great Halloween pattern and some great leather buttons to incorporate in it. I think she does a couple giveaways a month at least. Good ones, too!
