This quilt was just waiting for the person who would treasure it as much as you seem to. I would love to have one of my Granny's lovely quilts. You are truly blessed.

You are fortunate to have a memory quilt and your DGGM is fortunate that you treasure the quilt.
We had a trunk show at our guild meeting this week. The quilter giving the presentation used the back of one of her wall hangings to journal. You could also use photo transfers of your DGGM and other family members. Would be neat if you had a photo of your mom in one of her dresses.
That said, I really need to make journal type labels for the three quilts I have from my DM. Unfortunately, I did not write down all the information before she died and I remember only in part.

I think it will be prettier with a decorative quilting pattern in those gray set-ups!
She was still using a treadle? The 1960's aren't THAT long ago -- most of us had electric machines well before then!

Wow, a journal on the back of the quilt seems like a great idea! I think I'm going to just tie it together as my quilting leaves something to be desired and I don't want to ruin it.

The treddle is the only machine she had, so she was still using it. For her, the treddle was a novelty because she grew up stitching by hand. :-)

It's lovely...you finish it up and it will look beautiful on your wall. Don't forget a label for the back...it's history and your finishing touches.
