    Hi Lori,

My vote is for the narrow black border then the multi-colour with the sayings. My second choice would be the peace fabric.

For the back, I'd do a variety of sizes of rectangles in alternating colours.

I think the thin black boarder then the words. I don't use black for backing If I don't have to. I did one for my GS and he was so upset that it was always full of fuzz, threads and lint. Black picks up everything. Just Sayin!!!Good luck!

Pretty quilt. Lots of work, but it's worth it to have something this nice when finished.
I go along with the small black border, and the tonal large border and black for the binding. Good work, I might add. When it is all done, watch and see how it pops! Edie

Black border first then the peace sign fabric and bind in the black.
Backing I would go cross ways with the seams. So you could do 2 strips of one color then 1 strip of the other color. Are you having this machine quilted? If so I would say the fewer seams on the back the better it would be. It's a beautiful quilt and many hours have gone into it. I'd love to see a picture of it after it is quilted.

Peace man! I am a child of the 60's

For the backing - Take both lengths of fabric, trim the selvedges and then sew them like a tube (a seam line down both sides) Then fold the fabric so the seams are lined up. Trim one side and open up. You now have a solid middle with two side panels. The color you trimed will be the side panels.

They sell it at wm for $3.97 a yd.
Walmart is a problem here......we're one of the stores that closed their fabric dept. I'm pretty sure I didn't buy the fabric at WallyWorld though.......I think I bought it at JoAnn's.

I hadn't thought about how piecing the back would effect how I would like to quilt the front. I've already sent Candlequilter a message to get her opinion on quilting options......that's the next problem I'll be having questions on. I love to hand quilt but I just want to get this one done and think I'm going to let a longarm quilter tackle this baby!
