    Get a piece of clear plastic. Draw your design on the plastic. Then you can put over the top of the quilt and see how it will look.

    I think amandasgramma has the answer (and what a neat way to do it!). All I could think of was "don't stipple or meander!" That would detract from your fabulous design. amandasgramma came up with lines that enhance your quilt.
