Default Looky what GD made ME for Christmas - her first quilt!

Avi is almost 12 and loves sewing. I had some fabric given to me, and had passed some along to her, so she turned it into a lap quilt - for ME!!!! I am so proud of her. She even mitered the corners. When I expressed my surprise she said "well it was in the book" - a Nancy Zieman beginning quilting book I had given her a year or so ago. I am just so pleased. I keep it on my bed, and it gives my legs a little extra warmth, and I can feel her love while I sleep.

That's great! A very nice quilt - really nice mitered corners - and how nice to have one so young so interested in quilting and doing such a good job!

I do feel really lucky. She is a really special girl in many ways. Mom has a home business and also home schools. But, Avi will start lunch without being asked, when it is time. She does alot of the cooking. She also helps the younger ones with their school work, and makes sure everyone does their chores. She is a real mother hen and a big help to her Mom. She is super sweet too!

Can you tell how proud I am of my beloved granddaughter?
