As they say ... All is well that ends well! It is so nice to know there are people in the world that still care and that are honest. I bet the little nine year old was heartsick over this.

What a lovely little quilt she made! I am so glad the family will be getting it soon.

YAY, a happy ending. And great big kudos to you for taking the time to work out this mystery. It's a happy ending for you, the 9 year old maker and the recipient. Great job!

That is such a wonderful story. What a beautiful job she did on the quilt.

Someone saw it that knew about the quilt not reaching it's destination. She notified the lost quilt site with the father's name. I googled it and called them today! They were so happy, and needless to say, so am I! The name, birth date{just last Aug} and weight, as well as embroidered decorations were all identified by the woman that sent the email, along with the father's name and address. I will be sending it this week, insured with tracking and an extra label on the quilt with mailing info on it also. It will be something that can easily be removed by the new owner, but will not fall off with rough handling in the mail.
    You are now...officially...my hero!!!

I made a quilt for my grandson in 2000, my first quilt, but didn't know I should have labelled it. It was lost in a supermarket in Bethesda, MD. When my son returned for it within five minutes, it was gone and it could not be found. I would so love to have it back. How do I go about finding it?

I posted the one I found on www.lostquilts.com I would also post it in the grocery store, if was recently lost. Especially if you have a picture. If it was stolen, maybe someone that sees it will recognize it and contact you. I forgot one at the laundry mat years ago and they said it was never turned in. I believe it was stolen. It was a small afghan I crocheted. It had been near closing and there was an attendant.
