Since you don't have the name of the pattern, could you please post a picture showing the whole quilt, so we can see the layout better? I do 2 1/2" swaps on line and this would be a good pattern to use my squares for. Thanks

In looking at the picture, I see a 16 inch block made of 16 of the 4 patches she is making with the 2 1/2" starting squares. The filler block has a 4 patch on each corner and could be filled with your background material however you want. The quilt is alternating color and filler blocks for each row. I don't see any borders so don't really know how she will be finishing the quilt.

This is made of 4 patches, and 2 4 1/2" squares and a 4 1/2" by 9" block, there's 2 4 patches and the 9 put together first row, than 3 four patches and the 4 1/2" block together, than reverse the same for bottom and sew together, trim to 16 1/2" square.
