    Love the quilt and going to a great cause! Did you do the embroidery before adding the block to the quilt.? I often wonder what it looks like on the back if you quilt after putting the quilt together.

    in this case i did. the satin stitch would look awful on the back.
    also, i knew i was going to get somebody else to do the quilting.

    how the embroidery looks on the back depends on the embroidery.
    single-run quilting motifs look just fine.
    double-run quilting motifs can look a bit "iffy", depending on the color used.
    regular embroidery (like multi-color satin stitch flowers, for example) would make the quilt look pretty awful on back.
