    Default Macy's quilt

My daughter's best friend is Macy. Macy is now the proud big sister to Wesley. I posted Wesley's I-Spy quilt Thursday. When Emmaline and Macy were born we didn't know Macy's parents, so Macy didn't get a quilt. Since the girls are such good friends now, we decided Macy should have a quilt too. This one measures about 64 by 72, so hopefully she can use it on a twin bed if she wants.

This quilt was inspired by a diamond quilt I saw at a show. I used the Super Sidekick ruler by Jaybird quilts to cut the diamonds.

This is the first time I have ever done true free motion. I watched Angela Walters on YouTube about 9,000 times and I think it finally sunk in. She calls this the flower meander. I wanted less quilting so I made the motif bigger than her demo.

The back is a gorgeous flower print we bought for Emmaline, but I guess we can't save ALL the fabrics for her!

I hate it when this happens!

    Thanks for looking.

    Darren

I love your colourful quilts - they’re so bright and cheerful!

I sympathise with your binding hitch - it falls into the same category as being an inch short!

What a beautiful quilt...front and back. I love the diamonds and the colorful fabrics. You did a fantastic job on your flower motif FMQ.

It's wonderful to remember the older child when a sibling arrives. This quilt is beautiful and I'm sure she'll love it! So much great colors and the quilting is spot on!
