i think Barbs idea is great and maybe seeing as you now have a design opportunity  you could cut out half a star and place it on the edge of the border so you only see half a star and repeat randomly here and there. Also you could place a full star randomly and maybe also alternating with different sizes..i think the quilt is gorgeous and someone will buy it for sure so do not throw it out!

Its really cute! Is it possible to find some "store-bought" embellishments and scatter them about including over the mistake? No one would be any wiser then.

I concur...applique some randon stars over your quilt and your blooper will be covered up. The quilt is too adorable to discard.

When I have done this I usually sew over it. I had horrible luck with steam to a seam. I use the kind that the paper is only on one side then you iron on and peel. I have had to repair like this before also. DGS got my scissors and cut on my bed ruffle and I had to repair. Use a tiny blanket stitch by hand over cut and that should help hold it in place. Good luck.

I can see it, but only because I was looking for it,,I would try to applique over it, maybe with something from the fabric on the back...
I want you to see a foot stool I made for my first great grandson
it is the same fabric you used for the back of your quilt !!!

JRT__that is so cute! I LOVE that fabric and you used it perfectly! I ran out of what I had--unless there's some hiding back in the closet--so I bought some bright yellow to use the star suggestion... I'll work on it in the next days. Thanks for showing me your bear project.
