I used 4 and 1/2 in squares with 3 in squares I wanted to have more color showing. you can do it in any size you want to do them in.the larger your small squares are , the less of the large square will show. Does that make sense?

Yes, it does make sense. Actually, if you decide to make another one, LMK. I have some 5" and 6" squares I can send you to add to your quilt. Thanks for your help.

NInnie, it was really hard to match up the four triangles on the blocks into squares for this beginner.

How would you quilt it by hand? I mean what typr of pattern would you go with?

panda, go to the stencil company and look for 3 inch stencils and pick out one that is easy for you. Simple is better with this pattern.
Also, I have to pin all of those points to get them to be straight and even.
Pinning is the only way I know how to do it. :D :D

I hope you don't mind me asking for tips on how to do the scrappy corners. I use this method to make snowball blocks. No matter how careful I am to mark the diagonal line and sew on it, the corner pieces are sometimes' off '--a bit too small or a bit too big.. Do you have any tricks for making sure they are accurate? Hope I explained it clearly enough.

Have you ever tried using a piece of painters tape (lined up perfectly with your needle) big enough that your squares fit one it. Then you don't have to draw the line just line it up with the tape and sew.

I'm not sure what you mean. Could you explain a bit further?
    Thanks.
