My LQS owner just asked me about writing up the pattern for her, so I will soon. Anyone who can make HSTs (half square triangles) should find this a fairly straightforeward pattern. Actually, the hardest part is finding the right fabrics. Mine are all either batiks or particularly good fall prints. I have seen maple leaf quilts made with run of the mill fabrics. The effect just is not the same. The background is also a batik.
I just saw a Connecting Threads batiks webad here and clicked over. There are several there that would make lovely maple leaves.

I designed about 4 quilts before I came up with a pattern I liked for the fabric I'd bought. Many of the fabrics are batiks, including the ginko leaf background.
