    I finally am getting a finished photo of this Mariners Compass quilt added onto this thread. This is a photo of the quilt on my sister's bed. Also there is a photo of the quilting & label.

    I love your quilt. Seeing yours reminded me that I have saved that pattern for the Fons & Porter Mag since 2007. ( the only issue I saved). I hope to start mine in Jan.
    Yours looks great! Any helpful hints to this pattern?

    I dearly LOVE the Mariners Compass and hope someday to make one. Yours is stunning. How special to have made it for your sister. Hope you are doing well. Saying some prayers for you :)

    Have fun with it! I just organized the cut material pattern pieces in such a way to make them easy access. I spread out the color combos in the individual pattern sizes on batting & slid the batting into a ziplock baggies to help keep organized. I had the baggies marked with the pattern piece info. Hope that helps. I enjoyed making the quilt.

    I no longer have the pattern, but you should be able to get a "back copy" from Fons & Porter's 2007 March/ April magazine. Good Luck!! I did alter my pattern on the sizes of all my borders because I was making a quilt to fit a Cal King & the pattern in the magazine was for a queen size. :-D
