When I was at Hickory Sticks last week, they had some marvelous fabric in honor of Mark Twain and the anniversary of his birth. Windham in conjunction with the Mark Twain Historic Society printed several prints but this one was my favorite. I even bought a purse made from it, it depicted a steamboat quite prominently and stole my heart. Here are some pics to share. If you are ever in the area, please take the time to visit Hickory Sticks. The prices are about the same as other LQS but they are friendly, their clearance corner is definitely worth a browse, and there is nothing like being in a very old building in the downtown area that has that neat ambiance found in very few places.

I have some of this fabric that I bought to make a quilt in memory of my brother, who died several years ago. When he was a boy, he was in a play about Huckleberry Finn.

Does this store have a website? I live near Elmira, NY, which is where Mark Twain is buried. His wife, Olivia, was from Elmira and they spent every summer here with her family after they were married so there is a strong local connection. I make things to sell at craft fairs and i know this fabric would be a hit around here.
I guess i will google it to see if its available online. I love your purse.
