You really stepped up to the challenge. This is a wonderful quilt and I really like how you quilted it, especially the triangles in the outside border. That really is a nice compliment to the piecing and the feathers. Take a bow, you did a great job.

Did you mark your feathers? I'm still struggling with them - can only do them if I mark first - no way can I do them free hand. I LOVE the mix of old/new - your quilt shows today's style with an homage to the past. Great job!

Word... the feathers would never have been the same size if I had done them freehand. I got a large sheet of newsprint, traced the outlines of the corners and the sides and started drawing feathers with a pencil, erasing what I didn't like. When I liked what I had, I traced them with a Sharpie to make them stand out. I taped the drawing down on a light box, put the quilt top on the drawing, and traced it with a blue, water-soluble marker. There were so many repeats on this quilt that I only had to have three drawings... one small side section and two different corners. I didn't have to follow the markings exactly. I just needed to keep them the same size.

"today's style with an homage to the past" I LOVE THIS! If anyone mentions the old and new aspects of this quilt, I'm gonna tell them what you said!!!

It was such a simple pattern, but it was very difficult not to make a mistake. I was constantly checking and rechecking and still made some major mistakes that had to be undone. A bear for sure!

I think you took this challenge head on & succeeded! Well done! If you do decide to sell the pattern, count me in for one! I'd love to make this one!
