You've made another great quilt! Did you do bead work in the flowers? Loved the turtle one and this one is fantastic also. Nice work on the stitching. Did you buy a kit or just the pattern as your fabrics are terrific?

Thanks for all your kind comments. The beautiful batiks are from a laser cut kit, the beads were from the accessory kit and were glued on with a bead glue, & the spokes are embroidery floss.
Red Garnet: No, the straight stitch wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I went very slow on my Tiara, and used invisible thread in a cone from Superior. I think the best practice had been that I have done several play mat & kid panels and am used to following an outline when I quilt them. If you quilt around your appliques after they have been buttonhole stitched, that is good practice as well. The Sea Turtle wall hanging had many more pieces to quilt around and since I didn't want to break thread I would cross from one area to another. Good luck......I'm sure you can do it.

I made 4 Dresden plate quilts and straight stitched them on to the background.
I have put a few blocks on donation quilts when I had to use big plain borders. Fast and easy and stay better for kids's quilts.

You sound just like me! I got caught up in the moment and bought a big McKenna Ryan BOM and never touched it. I then thought I'd go smaller and bought some placemat patterns while at her store a few years ago. They still sit, too. Maybe you have inspired me to begin......Your work is beautiful.
