I would see her checks coming thru the office where I worked, but I never saw her because my work area did not have a view of any of the customer areas. But one of my co-workers heard me say that I liked her books. My co-worker put in a good word with the tellers, and every time Ms. L'Engle came thru the drive-thru someone would give me the heads up! I would run up the stairs, scuttle down a hallway, and discretely peek around a corner....unfortunately I never saw anything but the back of her car, driving away. Sigh!
