In the early 1950's my Aunt (mother's sister), owned and operated a children's clothing shop on Ocean Avenue in Carmel, CA. My Mother used to sew and make little girls dresses for the shop. When working in the shop, my Aunt wore "big full sleeved" smocks, which she designed and hand painted. The Geranium flowers on peach colored fabric, was from one of those smocks. Using these pieces of art work, I decided to display them in a wall hanging. Both my Mother and her Sister have passed on, but with this hanging, those precious memories will continue and always remain in the family.

I machine pieced it together, hand quilted and bead embellished this memory of my past.

Your story has melted my heart. How beautiful of you to continue the memory and the fabric.

You did a great job! I know that the memories will be cherished forever. Like I told my mother, as long as someone remembers someone, they are never really gone.
