What a great quilt to celebrate a great person. And thanks so much for sharing the story behind it.

The picture would not have the meaning without what you call "the long explanation". I lost my Dad on Sept. 19 and cried thru the whole story. As I write this I am still tearing up. What a beautiful sentiment to a gracious lady who from all apparent explanation, raised a fabulous son into a wonderful loving husband. What a beautiful gift.

A wonderful quilt to go with a wonderful story. And I am sure Marlene was a great lady!! Your hubby is going to love this one! Love the fabrics you have used. And the fact that every block tells a story! AWESOME!!

Your tribute quilt is awesome and I am sure that your DH will treasure it always. Rosie is adorable. I grew up with Shepherds and miss having one.

What a wonderful gift not just for ur husband but for the whole family! I agree you should add a journal of what the blocks mean but over the holiday have family members pen stories about her for future generations! What a thoughtful wife and DIL you are!!!!

What a lovely tribute, and meaningful to both you and your husband. I'm sure you'll think of her fondly every time you see your quilt in your forest paradise!

Very, very special. You are very fortunate to have had such a wonderful MIL. Mine is, too. Great tribute to that special bond.
