Thanks so much for liking the little quilt. The pattern came with a ruler. Each block finishes at 1". the quilt without borders is 10" sq and with the border 15 1/2" sq. The pattern starts with 2 1/2"sqs of assorted lights and darks, laid out in a particular grid. Then the little pinwheels are cut from grid.

This quilt does use a special ruler which came with the pattern. It is tiny so if you like minis go for it. If you have never worked with small pieces, just take your time and you can get through it rather easily.

The pattern recommends using a small rotary cutter to cut around the small ( 1 1/2")template but You don't need it if you are careful. I didn't use a small cutter on my first one and the 45m cutter was okay but not ideal.
    Starch your fabric
    Press all seams open
Slow down, take time to stay in control. This is not speed sewing.

I finished the first top between 6 and 7 hours and another 2-3 hours to quilt and bind it.

It is not a big investment in time or fabric.

I would definitely give it try if you get the opportunity.
