    I think the way you put it together is amazing. It looks good to me. No it is not a kaleidoscope like you had in mind. But no one else will know this pretty block is not as you first envisioned it. Keep going

    It is a very creative way to make it work. No problem with doing this at all. When it is in the whole quilt, it will enhance the pattern.

    It looks fine. I think you will be the only one who will know it is different, but when it's in the quilt, I'll bet you won't even be able to find it!

    ​I have made a couple of OBW quilts. In one of them I did use mis-matched hexagons to keep the pattern flowing. The wonderful thing about OBWs is that one can be creative and mismatches will not be noticed.
