I'm trying to add a bright border to this teddy bear panel and I'd like to make mitred corners. I've only done it once on 1st quilt & struggled endlessly. Could anyone give me an easy way to do that? Below is what I'm trying to work on.

I like to fold the border and press it so that I like the look from the front. Then pin the tail part to the other strip and use the pressed line for a stitching line.

I used the tute from my Better Homes & Gardens quilting book, and it worked fine. Maybe you have a quilt book that would show you how to do it?

Try here for continuous double fold binding. Start at the 21:30 point for just the binding.

I guess I wasn't very clear. I have to put corner blocks on this quilt top. I need to mitre the piano keys. There are three colored strips sewn together.

Pretend the piano border is the binding in the first blog post. It should work the same way. If the piano border is 2 inches wide you need to have the piano border at least 2.5 inches wider on each side to accommodate the miter.

Thank you everyone!! I have successfully made all the corner mitres now and have attached three out of four. It's looking how I'd pictured it & I'm much happier with this panel now with the bright colors surrounding it. For a while there I thought I was just going to have to make blocks at the corners, but I just needed some rest. Woke up and I finally "got" how I was being told to make them. Thank you all again.
