That girl is my DGD and she want's to make a bed runner/shawl. She's been sewing with me for about two years so she spent the week merrily sewing away, picking out strips, cutting, arranging. I figure she's got another 4 stripsets to make. Right now she's on holidays but she's coming back for "Grammy Camp" round 2 when she gets back. I'm taking her to my two days of quilting - wonder what the other quilter will think of this 10 year old?

Kudoes to you, Suzzy, for taking the lead and introducing this fine bunch of kids to quilting. They look so pleased with themselves--as well they should! I particularly like the runner all the way to the right--would look perfect in my kitchen. Your granddaughter also made a pretty one. She will be such a refreshing addition to your retreat.

I had just retired and after walking through the 4-H display at our county fair, i was so inspired by their beautiful work I went right to my local quilt shop and signed up for lessons. I’m a former home ec teacher and taught sewing, but I had never quilted, an old dog can learn new tricks! (I also just completed 25 years as a 4-H leader. Best program for kids). Consider donating fabric you might never used to your local 4-H club. Fabric isn’t cheap these days.
