AHH! So that's why it has that name!

Eparys such a bold idea! Love your solution but I would have been afraid to slice into a top like that. Kudos to you on being brave and having a vision!

I am not fond of the standard 1600 or jelly roll race quilts. I have seen a few cute ones with appliques on them. Yours is very nice.

Thank you all for the positive support . LOL -did not know that I had so much company in the "I don't like it " camp!! Just some info for those who want to try it - I took my 6 x 24 inch ruler that had a 45 degree angle on it and made one cut. Then I made the next cut exactly the width of the ruler and added sashing .... then made the next cut and added sashing ,,, and continued. The trickiest thing to do was to get the sashing flat and the horizontal strips "looking" straight - so I used lots of pins.

I am so happy with the results. I just need to make the QoV label and it will be sent off.

Chem - I figured that I really did not like it and would not give it away as it was .. so I had nothing to loose and everything to gain!! If it turned out dreadful it might have become a dog bed for the local shelter!!

That was a very clever solution. As my new friend would say, 'Nice thinking outside of the box'. I like the results better than a jelly roll race too.
