    If I ever will make a similar quilt I would definitely sew the top to a piece of muslim first before basting and quilting. The monkey turned out fine but as all the pieces are cut on the bias the background fabric badly puckered...........No way of continuous quilting, I had to "nail" it down with single pebbles - this meant cutting off treads for hours.

    The picture below shows how I pieced it and the monkey heads are from embroidery.com

    3 year old DGS fell in love with it yesterday and asked what I will do with it. It would need a label and then I had to look out for a nice little guy to give it too. "do you know one"? He pointed at himself with the cutest smile ever and almost whispered: "yes Granny..........ME"

    Oh that is so sweet! I think I actually have this pattern, but the embroidered faces make it fabulous! You are lucky to have a grandson with such good taste and he is lucky to have you!!
