I just kept making blocks. The four patch blocks start out as 2 1/2" squares, alternating a color with a neutral. I stacked three four patch blocks together. The rectangle blocks each measure 7.5" with two of them sewn together to make one long one. Sew these to the side of the four patch blocks. Quite simple but very repeative.
My husband thinks I should copywrite it and sell the pattern, but I had a hard enough time just discribing the process here for you!!
I want to make another one, but using only one main colorway, such as all blues & creams, or greens and creams, or the ever popular red and white.
If you decide to make one have fun with it.
Thank you for the instructions! I have scads of 2-1/2" squares at home, so would only need to cut some of my 2-1/2" strips into the rectangles.

I like the idea of doing this in one colorway as well. I hope to see one!

What a great quilt - I love how my eye sort of follows the rectangles across the quilt and draws my attention to all of the different fabrics. Just lovely!

I love scrappy quilts! Great job. I have been in the Cotton Cabin several times. It's a cute shop.

I love scrappy quilts and your quilt is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing the construction. My only question is: do you still have scraps left after this lovely was finished? My guess would be yes :-)

Yes Lena I still have scraps left over. Now I'm working on using some up in a scrappy square in a square. Funny, but my scrap pile isn't dwindeling!!
