    Yes, I think these look best when using a good contrast thread! I think it would look very rustic with the homespuns!

    I love the look of the big stitches.....and here I have been trying to perfect my "little stitches" in hand quilting.....sigh!! About how long do you make each stitch? I definitely want to try this in the future.

    Thanks , don't measure, just try to take tiny stitch for the under and large for the one showing.

    I Googled Sashiko and it is very similar. If you want a primitive look to your quilt, this is one way to do it. I am going to try it on a tea-washed patriotic quilt. I will post when I get it done.
