    Several of you have asked what I did to make the squares "pop". I used a very low loft batting, but not warm and natural...that's a tiny bit too low...I then proceeded to quilt between the squares and rectangles...which make them appear to pop! I will take and post a couple more pictures to see if it's easier with pics.

    Thanks for the pictures. Do you think the edges of the applique will hold up well in the washing machine? I think I'm going to give this one a try!!

    Doesn't using up small scraps of fabric on minis make you feel GREAT?!?! Love the balancing act of the second quilt, but BOTH are beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing!
