Mother-In-Law's Quilt
#27
We finally figured the story out on this quilt. My oldest niece lived with my MIL & FIL for last 5 years of her life (as she had been kicked out of the house). My MIL was making this quilt for my niece's room. It was going to be her birthday present (reason why it was pretty much hid from everyone). She was working on the binding when my niece was killed in a car accident, this hit my MIL really bad so she just put the quilt up and never finished it.
It's finished now, and will go to someone in the family. I love the bright colors and I love the pattern. I also know, I will never have the patience to do this pattern, especially in a king size.

How tragic for all the the family to lose one so young and with relationships strained, how very hard for the parents and for your MIL and FIL to lose her from their lives so soon.
She would be so thrilled to see you have finished two projects close to her heart and how the story adds to the meaning of the quilts left behind.
