Oh gosh no, I'm not quite THAT creative yet. It's a pattern out of Beth Ferrier's book called More! Hand Applique by Machine. She has 9 different patterns in there and I love all of them. My mom was visiting a couple weeks ago and said several times how much she loved those sunflowers in the book. When I took her to the airport I swung by the fabric store on my way home and got all the fabric to make this for her. :)
Wow Rachel, I think you're very creative. Even though the pattern came from a book, you did an excellent job of pulling all the colors together and you are excellent at machine quilting! Your Bernina 440 is getting a great workout! :D

Beautiful job, Rachel! And I agree with you on the handsewing of the binding. Makes all the difference and it's worth the effort, isn't it?

In addition to it being beautifully done, you are extremely good at selecting the fabric. They are beautiful.
