these are really nice, I made some during Xmas time but I had so much.....trouble with the binding that I don't dare try to sew one anymore. I really don't have it with bindings

I used regular binding on these. I thought that I was good at it. I almost pulled my hair out. I learned a new trick that I used on some placemats and now I love it.

I like a half inch binding, so I cut one inch strips. I sewed them to all four sides and then sewed all four sides to back, turned and quilted. See them here [url]http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-100610-1.htm[url] It is faux binding and it is my go to technique now for small projects.

Credit goes to Liz of erzebat.blogspot.com for sharing this technique.

Several of you mentioned buying the mugs and coasters. I purchased them at Pier 1 in Houston. I do not know if this is a national chain or not. I, too, looked high and low for dotted mugs. The coasters were an impulse buy.

Thank you all for such kind words. The love and encouragement that we give each other is a great treasure. And it is like going to a quilt show everyday, what more could we want.
