Plus I got a bunch of quilting books for $2 each. I look back now and wonder why I hemmed and hawwed over some of it. What was I thinking???
Is that a standard dachshund in the picture? I do dachshund rescue and right now I'm down to three, all mine. Another one like my year old female would push me over the edge though!LOL
Yes, he's a standard. We call him a "big boy" size, since everyone in our area and that we know has minis. We rescued him about 5 years ago. We think he's about 7 now. He's my baby, for sure and he knows it. I'm hoping because he's bigger than the minis that he'll have less chance of back problems as he ages. He runs with DH at least 2-5 miles every day and he came in 3rd place in the SPCA Doggy Dash 2 years ago. Not bad for a weiner dog with little legs!
They can have just as many back problems as minis, the trick is to keep them long and lean and muscley strong by exercising. Looks like you're doing well in all of those! Most of it is genetics but jumping off of furniture is the biggest culprit of back injuries. Ages 5-7 is the mosty common age for problems to start, too. A wonderful, wonderful website to look at if, God forbid, he gets a back injury, is dodgerslist.org. There is a wealth of information and resources on this site. I even ran off info for my vet!

This is my luck! How on earth do you find these great deals? I'm always on the lookout, but just not lucky that way, I guess.

The best deal I found in the last year didn't turn out to be that great a deal after all. I needed a storage system and found one on CL completely full of craft stuff and supplies. I just wanted the storage system, so I bought it thinking I could sell the contents and get the storage system "free". Well, it's been months and I still have it all. The storage system is working great, but the bargain part of the equation, not so much. Maybe if any of you ladies is into other crafts besides quilting, you could PM me and I could see if I have anything you would be interested in. I've got a bunch of ribbon, paper (probably for scrapbooking), all kinds of different fabric (not for quilting, at least I wouldn't think it's quilt quality). Hmmmm, maybe I should put an ad in the buy/sell/trade section. Yeah, that's an idea.

You could put an ad on CL and sell it and recoup part of the $?

That's where I bought it to begin with and I have ads posted all over CL to sell it. Just haven't had any takers. But thanks for the suggestion.
