Your mom is a treasure. What gorgeous blocks and perfect, too. I think the special one (silk) would be so pretty framed and put on display so everyone can see them. She is lucky to have a daughter that appreciates her talent. I used to give scraps to my mom and she made so many things. She could turn nothing into something and now they are treasures I cherish. God Bless you both.

Fabulous work.. traditional would actually be to piece them together with a row of white or green pieces to make the "walkways" between the flowers. And it would be fantastic to do them by hand.. sorry if my preferences show.. but it is, to me, so much easier to get them "perfect" by hand piecing them. That is going to be a quilt that anyone would be delighted to have. How big are the hexagons?

They are beautiful and what a treasure for you. I have an a crocheted afghan my mom made in her later years and I treasure it. I set with it on my lap and just think of her and all the wonderful times we had together.

What a treat treasure you have for a mom. If I were fortunate to have her as my mom, I would give her some white fabric and ask her to make all white ones and alternate the colors with the white. They stand out so beautifully laying on the white fabric.

I couldn't get those done before I died if I lived to be 90. Please tell her how much she is admired from all on this board or just print out the replies and give them to her. Bet she'd love just that!!
