    Wonderful photo. I love seeing old family pictures. Clearly the photographer never asked folks to smile back then.
    The quilt looks like a log cabin to me, you can kinda see the light side if you squint.
    And, kudos to the Mother for using it as a backdrop.

    isn't it neat what we can "accidentally" find? Be it ancestors or anything else. Wish I could find some of my ancestors picts!

    oh and to explain the "accidental". yesterday I went for a walk, and coming back something caught my eye. A makrer , course me being a genealogist I had to look. It was an old gravesite from the 1800's to about 1888.
    So you have a great find with the pictures. and me, well a family cemetery! really cool.

    Thanks so much for sharing your picture! I've seen quilts used as backdrops in other old pictures.
