From my back catalog - abstract preemie quilt
Back in 2011, I'd just finished backing one quilt and making a pair of PJs, leaving me with lots of small to medium bits of blue flannels left over. When my guild at the time put out a call for preemie quilts for charity, I decided to help out.
The bigger scraps I cut into 8 inch squares for the back. The smaller ones I sewed into 8 in squares whatever way they'd fit, then cut those into triangles and put them back together for a nicely abstract look.
As you can see, the points came out somewhat sloppy (was my first time doing anything with triangles), but I hope it brought warmth and comfort to whatever baby received it.
